Florida Swing Vacation is one of the
most unique Swing events in the country. Held at the luxurious Rosen Plaza
Resort Hotel in Orlando, Florida, this event spans the New Year's Holiday
and is surrounded by several of the most exciting theme parks in America. And the weather is always nice.
This event is just what the title implies. It's a "Swing Vacation".
Actually, it's THREE things in one -- a Swing Dance Convention, a New
Year's Eve Party and a Theme Park Vacation.
For this exciting event, you can come a few days early, enjoy the theme
parks, dance at the convention, and end your adventure with a New Year's
Eve celebration. You can even watch the College Bowl Games on New Year's
Day on the big screen televisions if you're a sports fan. This event has

USASN:
You ladies recently purchased this event from Mark Traynor. How
excited are you to be directors of an event in Orlando, Florida and
what plans to you have to put your own signatures on this event?
FSV: ?????
USASN:
You're in Orlando, Florida - the theme park capital of the world. What
major theme parks are near your event?
FSV: There's Disney World, Epcot Center, Sea World, Wet 'n Wild,
MGM Studios, Universal Studios.
They're all just a quick shuttle ride from the hotel entrance.
Shuttles leave every 15 minutes.
You can also take a 75-cent shuttle to over 150
restaurants, over 375 shopping boutiques and 25 attractions in the
immediate area.
USASN:
What are the key dance features that make your event appealing?
FSV:
First of all, we're Florida's longest-running WCS event -
in our 19th year. We
offer 4 levels of WSDC Jack ‘n Jills, ProAms and the Florida State
Swing Dance Championship. But, frankly, we are still much more of a Social Dance Party event
than a Competition event.
Open dancing for the
attendees always takes precedence over Competitions that tend to use so
much evening “prime time” for social dancing. Competitions are primarily
held during the morning or afternoon. The exception is the FSSDC which
takes place during the evening and is completed within an hour.
Our philosophy is to first supply social
dancers with a great venue, competitors with an opportunity to showcase
their dance skills, and everybody who attends the chance to enjoy a WCS
event with great workshops, a terrific Pro show, competitive showcases,
and a New Years Dance Party like no other!

What are the New Year's Eve features at your event?
FSV:
Included in the full event ticket price is a huge,
fantastic Buffet Dinner served in Café Matisse inside the Rosen Plaza.
I get more compliments every year from everyone on how great the food
is. And, there’s a 4.5 hour window to choose your time to enjoy it.
Each table gets supplied with a wide variety of
centerpieces, party favors and candy. The ballroom decor looks terrific!
Around midnight, every table receives a Champagne surprise. In
addition, we have a cable hook-up for the Times Square festivities and we
ring in the New Year with a toast. It’s always been a pleasure bringing
the WCS community such a FUN party to start the New Year!

What do you get for your weekend pass?
FSV:
Our Full Event Pass includes admission to everything
for 4 days/nights, 12 workshops including our FloorPlay Original Dance Forum, a Pizza Party one night, New Years Eve
dinner, Pro Show, and New Years Dance Party. I believe that this has to be
the BEST WCS Dance Event value anywhere! And I’ve been told by many
regular event travelers that the Rosen Plaza is their favorite WC Event
hotel. It's first-class, perfectly located and even has a 24-hour
delicatessen.
USASN: Give us a two
