PREVIEW!

"Your Mama Don't Dance!"

Lifetime TV dance series pits professional youth dancers with their parents.

The dance world is about to be turned upside down!  Some of America's hottest dancers auditioned for a chance to be a part of a new dance competition show under the pseudonym "Dance Nation" but they had no idea what was really in store for them.  After making the "Final 10" cut, they were totally surprised to learn from the producers that they'd be dancing with a partner - and totally shocked to learn that their partner would be one of their PARENTS!

In the series, five female dancers will be Fox-trotting with their fathers while five male dancers will be doing the Mambo with their mothers as they vie for praise from the judges and for America's votes. They must put aside their differences, not step on each other's toes and work together as a team to become the Grand Champions.

The series premieres on the Lifetime Channel on Friday, February 29th at 9 PM.

THE WINNERS
Who decides the winners?  The Judges and You!

Each week, the judges will put the two teams with the lowest scores on the chopping block, then it's up to America to determine which team stays in the competition by voting via phone, text and online. The winning team will be announced on Friday, April 18, at the end of the show - following a live vote - and will take home the title and $100,000 in cash and prizes.

PRODUCERS' PHILOSOPHY

Lifetime’s president, Susanne Daniels, told the paper that the show is “a dance competition, but it’s really about the adult parent/child relationship, and how complex that is. It’s going to be an emotional show. I want people to cry.”

"This show is truly a testament to how far parents will go for their children," said executive producer Bob Bain. "These parents are picking up their lives for ten weeks, leaving their friends and families at home to come to dance on national television with their kids. Most don't have any formal dance training whatsoever, so it is going to be really interesting to see how well they perform."
