Henry Knox's artillery march from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston went through the heart of the Sturbridge Townships. Ben Franklin placed mile markers here along the Boston Post Road. Historical markers throughout the area identify points of interest and significance, and world-famous Old Sturbridge Village accurately recreates life in 1830s New England.

The world's largest antique and collectibles shows are right here in Brimfield, and there are other treasures to be found throughout the Sturbridge Townships. You never know what you'll stumble upon in our many antique shops, unique gift emporiums, artist and craftsperson studios, general stores, and local markets. We have a countless variety of unique shops, from pottery to candy, from books to quilts. Whether you're window shopping or shopping for antique windows, you'll find something interesting in the Sturbridge Townships.
